Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Activities Director to lead engaging and meaningful programs within our senior living community. In this vital role, you will design, coordinate, and oversee a diverse range of recreational activities tailored to enhance residents’ quality of life, promote social interaction, and support their physical and mental well-being. Your energetic leadership will foster a vibrant community atmosphere where residents feel valued, stimulated, and connected. Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive activity calendar that caters to residents’ interests, abilities, and health needs, including memory care and dementia-specific programs
  • Coordinate special events, outings, and therapeutic activities that promote socialization, cognitive engagement, and physical activity
  • Collaborate with nursing staff, caregivers, families, and external vendors to ensure activities align with individual care plans and preferences
  • Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) when needed to foster participation and comfort
  • Manage scheduling for activities staff and volunteers to ensure consistent program delivery
  • Maintain detailed records of resident participation, progress notes, and activity outcomes for care planning purposes

Requirements

  • Proven experience in event planning within assisted living or nursing home settings; experience in long-term or home & community care is highly desirable
  • Strong background in senior care, Alzheimer’s care, memory care, dementia care, or related fields with a focus on aging issues counseling and caregiving
  • Knowledge of recreational therapy techniques and working with individuals with disabilities or cognitive impairments
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively engage residents, families, staff, and community partners
  • Ability to assist residents with ADLs such as dressing, grooming, or mobility during activities to promote independence
  • Skilled in schedule management to coordinate multiple programs simultaneously while maintaining flexibility for residents’ changing needs
  • Compassionate approach with a passion for improving seniors’ quality of life through engaging activities

Pay: $10.00 - $11.00 per hour
