Housekeeping - LMC

The SS Badger is a coal-fired passenger and vehicle ferry that has been in service on Lake Michigan since 1953.  The ship shuttles between Ludington, Michigan, and Manitowoc, Wisconsin, 62 miles, connecting U.S. Highway 10 between those two cities.

We have an exciting opportunity for an overnight Housekeeping aboard the SS Badger. Starting pay for this role is $14.35/hour for nights. This position also receives tips, holiday pay, 401K, and the opportunity to earn an end of season bonus of $0.50 for every hour worked. Currently hiring for the 2025 season. Must have the ability to obtain a USCG Merchant Mariner Credential and a Transportation Worker Identification Credential. Lake Michigan Car Ferry assists in obtaining these documents. 

Job Summary: 

Housekeepers contribute to guest comfort and ensure the daily cleaning and tidying of the facilities and public spaces. The housekeeper ensures all assigned areas are clean, neat, and tidy. Housekeepers will assist with breaks.

Housekeepers play an important role for our customers experience every day and must provide professional, friendly, and courteous guest interactions and guest services. In addition to maintaining our vision by adhering to our values, this position must provide the highest level of service to our guests while maintaining a professional and friendly demeanor.

Direct Supervisor: Director of Hospitality 

Primary Responsibilities: 

• Clean rooms, including dusting, vacuuming, changing bed linens, cleaning bathrooms, empty and clean trash containers, and clean up all spills on the service deck.
• Respond to guest queries and requests with a friendly and helpful demeanor. 
• Pick up ground litter around rooms or wherever visible.
• Be able to operate a cash register and give back correct change.
