Essential ResponsibilitiesMaterial Handling
- Receive, unload and inspect incoming steel, purchased materials and production supplies.
- Tag and identify all incoming inventory.
- Transport raw materials to designated warehouse and production locations.
- Supply production lines with material as required.
- Return unused material to inventory following company procedures.
- Operate forklifts, overhead cranes and other material handling equipment safely.
- Maintain organized storage locations throughout the facility.
- Assist with housekeeping and warehouse organization.
- Prepare customer shipments for local, regional and national delivery.
- Load trailers safely to maximize product protection during transit.
- Secure shipments using approved methods.
- Verify shipping manifests and packing documentation.
- Record shipments accurately within ERP systems.
- Assist drivers during loading and unloading operations.
- Maintain loading and receiving records.
- Obtain driver signatures where required.
- Receive inventory into SAP.
- Maintain accurate inventory transactions.
- Verify production confirmations against physical paperwork.
- Participate in monthly and annual physical inventory counts.
- Assist with cycle counting activities.
- Process inventory adjustments including coil gains/losses due to conversion yield.
- Monitor offsite inventory.
- Identify inventory discrepancies and assist with root cause investigations.
- Assist in reducing obsolete and aging inventory.
- Assist production with locating materials quickly.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to warehouse organization and inventory accuracy.
- Assist with freight reporting and inventory reporting as requested.
- Recommend improvements to warehouse layout, material flow and inventory processes.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Follow all company safety policies and OSHA requirements.
- Wear required PPE at all times.
- Operate forklifts and overhead cranes only if trained and authorized.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Follow the Group Code of Conduct and Group Compliance requirements.

This position works primarily within a manufacturing and warehouse environment with regular exposure to forklifts, overhead cranes, steel coils, production equipment and shipping operations.
