About the Role
Mori is seeking a motivated and hardworking Manufacturing Technician to join our Engineering team and work in our groundbreaking Pilot Plant. We are looking for a team player that will contribute meaningfully to Mori Manufacturing and become a valued member of a mission-critical team at Mori. You will advance Mori’s mission of “More Food, Less Waste” by directly supporting the Pilot Plant manufacturing operations. The Pilot Plant is critical to multiple areas of Mori’s manufacturing process, including producing liquid food-grade product, spray drying product for storage and scaling new manufacturing processes from lab bench to 4000L scale to ensure stability ahead of commercial production. Working both individually and in a small team, you will operate manufacturing equipment to produce Mori products, while ensuring proper maintenance and sanitation of all Plant equipment. Location, Schedule & Salary
- Based in Hood Park, Charlestown, MA
- Schedule: Monday – Friday, Both 1st shift (6AM-3PM) and 2nd shift (3PM-12AM) Available
- On Site Requirements: 5 days a week
- 1st Shift Salary: $55,000-$65,000 annually
- 2nd Shift Salary: $61,600-$72,800 annually (includes 12% shift differential)

What You Will Do
- Perform pilot plant duties including equipment operation, maintenance, cleaning, and sanitation
- Perform necessary pre-operation and end of shift activities to ensure proper equipment start-up and operation on multiple pieces of equipment
- Carries out protein extraction, purification, and drying in Mori’s production plant following established SOPs
- Contributes to conception and execution of bench scale R&D runs for new process and materials development, on occasion
- Perform daily quality and environmental sampling, monitoring, and testing
- Perform work which is predominantly intellectual in character, and which includes work requiring the consistent exercise of discretion and judgment.
- Regularly communicate observations, results, recommendations for changes, safety hazards and issues to the team
- Maintain a safe work environment and participate in Mori safety culture
- Maintain production paperwork, files, and databases
- Follow all plant GMPs, food safety protocols and production procedures

What You Will Bring
- Education: Bachelor's degree showcasing lab-based coursework in chemistry, biology, biotechnology, chemical engineering, bioengineering, or a similar field, OR, Associate’s degree in a scientific or engineering-related field with 1 year of relevant work experience, OR, 2-3 years relevant work experience
- Ability to work well independently and on a team, depending on the task
- Exceptional organizational, communication, and team building skills
- Flexibility to shift work hours to support the team when needed - this is a small team and flexibility in work hours is essential to ensure team PTO coverage and support ad hoc processes
- Ability to lift 50 pounds, with or without assistance
- Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, bend, kneel and crouch repeatedly for the entire duration of the shift, with or without assistance
Bonus points if you have:
- Experience with basic engineering unit operations – stirred tanks, purification, filtration equipment, and drying
- cGMP compliant process experience in pharma or food
