Team Description
The Data Security and Infrastructure Risk Team sits within the Wealth Management (WM) Risk organization and strives to find the right balance between risk management and business enablement. The WM Business Resilience group works to ensure that WM critical business services and essential assets are available in proportion to their criticality. The group achieves this vision by defining resilience standards, creating recovery objectives, prioritizing essential assets, complying with Business Continuity Management (BCM) policies, and representing the WM business during outages.
Role Description
The WM Business Resilience group seeks a Vice President to enhance the business resilience program. This individual will help execute the vision for achieving an appropriately resilient WM business. This individual will build strong relationships with business partners, technology owners, operations teams, and vendors. They will lead efforts to ensure that stability risks to critical business services are communicated, documented, and mitigated. A successful candidate will demonstrate strong risk management judgment and expertise in working with critical infrastructure and systems.
Primary Responsibilities
- Formulate both technical and process solutions to ensure essential assets have appropriate recoverability plans
- Inventory critical business services and prioritize essential assets for controls enhancing recoverability from ransomware attacks
- Develop resilience metrics measuring risk reduction for essential assets and critical business services
- Represent WM during outages to report to senior management on business impact, remediation, accountability, and decision space
- Ensure WM compliance with BCM policy requirements
- 8-10 years of experience in a technical and/or risk field and 5 years of relevant experience in resilience, preferably in financial services
- Experience engineering and supporting technology for critical business services employing modern technologies and infrastructure
- Knowledge of relevant regulatory guidance for operational resilience and business continuity management
- Experience assessing resilience risks and designing mitigating controls
- Ability to independently manage and execute on multiple workstreams
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Expertise in office productivity software, data analysis, and collaboration tools for Agile delivery
- Application security experience preferred

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $100,000 and $180,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
