We are looking for a motivated and ambitious Senior Contracts Manager to join our Water|Highways business unit in supporting the delivery of the YTL Capital Delivery Framework (Wessex Water). Our Water team designs, builds, and maintains vital UK water infrastructure, ensuring secure water supply and wastewater services.
We work with major water companies to create resilient facilities, reduce flood risks, and improve environmental outcomes. Role Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, timely, and technically sound operational projects, ensuring efficient use of resources and recovery from delays.
- Lead the Combined Sewer Overflow capital programme, managing complex urban tunnelling and shaft sinking schemes.
- Promote best practices by challenging existing methods and embedding continuous improvement across teams.
- Ensure full compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards, as well as Morgan Sindall and client procedures.
- Build strong customer relationships, function as a business ambassador, and align delivery with key performance indicators and Perfect Delivery ethos.
- Lead and develop high-performing project teams, fostering a collaborative, “can-do” culture.
- Drive profitability and innovation through integrated team collaboration and commercial efficiency.
- Manage programme delivery, including human resources, suppliers, designers, and subcontractors.
- Produce monthly progress and business review reports, including Balanced Score Card input and customer feedback.
- Implement systems to capture and share best practices and promote cost-effective procurement and construction methods.
- Self-motivated and results-driven with a positive, proactive mindset
- Strong leadership and team motivation skills to ensure high compliance standards.
- Excellent organisational and time management abilities; capable of handling multiple projects without compromising quality.
- In-depth knowledge of the construction industry and regulatory standards
- Skilled in setting and achieving project and operational targets in collaboration with senior management.
- Effective negotiator with strong diplomacy and stakeholder engagement skills
