What are the responsibilities and job description for the 2026 Summer Part-Time Operations Staff position at Morgan's Camp?
Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Operations Manager, Operations Staff are responsible for key day-to-day operational functions at Morgan’s Camp. This a part-time, hourly position with primary responsibilities centered around on-site transportation, Volunteer oversight, dining hall operations, and higher-level operational support. This role works closely with Operations Support Staff as well as the Maintenance and Program departments as needed.
Responsibilities:
Essential Functions
- Operate Wonder Wagon to provide safe and reliable on-site camper transportation
- Support Hartman Hall dining operations alongside Operations Support Staff including meal service, dishwashing, dining hall clean-up and turnover between groups
- Assist Program and Maintenance Departments with preparations for incoming camps and events as needed
- Assist Operations Support Staff with maintaining cleanliness and chemical readiness of pools as needed
- Report daily to Operations Manager
- Assist with Volunteer check-in and oversight
- Assist with maintaining and operating Camp store
General
- Mitigate risk whenever possible and make safety recommendations to all departments
- Participate in ongoing professional development and maintain an understanding of current best-practices
- Actively support and promote a safe environment and ensure that proper safety precautions are being followed
- Any other duties as required
Qualifications:
- Education: High School degree preferred
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record required
- Commitment to the mission and core values of Morgan’s Camp as well as the implementation of these values in all daily work activity
- Must possess high levels of self-motivation, attention to detail, and time-management
- Ability to exercise independent thinking and initiative
- Ability to deal with complex situations or issues and make effective, timely, and appropriate decisions
- Must possess excellent customer service skills
- Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment
- Work is performed in a fast-paced indoor and outdoor environment.
- Much physical effort required on a routine basis: ability to use up to 50 pounds of force frequently.
- Ability to grasp, push, pull, carry or otherwise manipulate objects; ability to perform tasks requiring action of muscles or groups and foot and/or hand-eye coordination.
- Physical tasks include bending, reaching, stooping, carrying, and climbing as needed.
- Position requires walking and standing for extended periods.
- Job requires high levels of alertness and concentration. This position requires analytical abilities and multitasking in order to identify problems and recommend solutions
