Trading Systems Support Engineer
About the Opportunity
We are supporting one of the world’s leading market infrastructure providers and financial brokerage firms. Operating at the heart of global wholesale markets, they facilitate liquidity and price discovery across rates, credit, equities, and FX for top-tier investment banks and institutional funds.
This specific role sits within a specialised agency execution team, supporting a fast-paced relative value trading desk that utilizes proprietary, low-latency infrastructure and custom high-frequency algorithms.
Role Overview
- Desk-Facing Production Support: Provide L1/L2/L3 production support for front-to-back trading applications, working directly alongside brokers, traders, developers, and third-party vendors.
- System Monitoring & Tuning: Continuously monitor live order flow and proactively tune alerts, thresholds, and operational tooling.
- Reference Data Operations: Manage and update critical trading-system reference data.
- Incident Resolution: Investigate and resolve complex production issues under pressure in an active trading environment.
- Lightweight Software Development: Write lightweight code (C#, Python, JavaScript) to build tooling and improve platform stability, with the opportunity to take on more advanced development over time.
Essential Experience
- 2 - 3 years of hands-on Trading Systems / Application Support experience within a broker, bank, hedge fund, or electronic trading venue.
- Direct experience supporting a trading front-end (GUI) and an understanding of trading workflows.
- Basic software development/scripting capability (Python, C#, JavaScript).
Preferred / Value-Add Skills
- Fixed Income product knowledge.
- FIX protocol experience.
- Exposure to low-latency/algo trading environments or high-volume order flow.
- Understanding of SDLC and Agile delivery.
