Job Summary
We are seeking a knowledgeable and customer-focused Service Advisor to join our automotive service team. The ideal candidate will serve as the primary point of contact for customers, coordinating vehicle repairs and maintenance while ensuring exceptional service experiences. This role requires a strong understanding of automotive systems, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage service operations efficiently. Prior dealership experience and automotive diagnostics knowledge are highly valued to deliver accurate estimates and recommend appropriate services.
Duties
- Greet customers promptly and professionally, establishing rapport and understanding their vehicle concerns
- Inspect vehicles and communicate findings clearly to customers, providing detailed auto estimates for repairs and maintenance
- Coordinate with technicians to prioritize and schedule service work, ensuring timely completion
- Upsell additional services such as oil changes, tire rotations, alignments, suspension work, brake repairs, and transmission services when appropriate
- Manage service writing tasks including documenting customer concerns, creating repair orders, and tracking progress
- Maintain detailed records of customer interactions, vehicle history, and service recommendations
- Follow up with customers post-service to ensure satisfaction and promote repeat business
- Stay informed about automotive repair procedures including diesel engine repair, auto body repair, air brake systems, shocks & struts, and other specialty services
Skills
- Recommended dealership experience or auto service management background
- Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics, mechanical systems, and vehicle maintenance procedures
- Ability to upsell services confidently while maintaining integrity and customer trust
- Excellent customer service skills with a professional attitude
- Familiarity with automotive repair including transmissions, oil changes, tire service, alignment, suspension work, brake repair, diesel engine repair, shocks & struts
- Mechanical knowledge that supports effective communication between technicians and customers
- Sales skills with the ability to promote additional services effectively
- Experience in auto body repair or auto sales is a plus but not required
