Job Summary
The Summer School Principal leads a five-week K-8 summer program focused on helping students grow, feel confident, and have fun while learning. The goal is to create an upbeat environment where every student experiences success and has access to high-quality instruction that supports both learning acceleration and joyful engagement.

• Valid teaching and administrative credentials required
• Experience working with elementary students preferred
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and staff
• Commitment to supporting all students in achieving success

Comments and Other Information
Spring Responsibilities
• Hire and onboard summer school teachers and support staff
• Attend virtual planning meetings every other week starting in December
• Plan and attend three days of staff professional development the week before the program begins (June 9 - June 11, 2026)
Summer School Details
• Program runs four days a week for five weeks (June 15 - July 16, 2026)
• Daily administrator schedule is 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
• Daily teacher schedule is 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
• Daily student schedule is 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Summer Responsibilities
• Lead all daily school operations, including supervision, schedules, and staff support
• Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment where students feel safe, welcomed, and motivated
• Support teachers in providing engaging instruction that offers opportunities for learning acceleration and enrichment
• Monitor student progress and communicate updates to both families and staff as needed
• Partner with district leadership to ensure the program meets goals and follows district policies
