The Music Percussion Instructor will support teachers and students in Music. Scope of Duties: * Collaborate with classroom teachers to design and implement lessons. * Assisting with instruction, assessment, and logistics (concerts, performances, showcases, etc.) as determined by the band director. Job Responsibilities: * Facilitate student involvement in music activities * Rehearse small groups of students as needed * Provide extra support for students * Support and assist the classroom teacher in implementing lesson plans * Monitor, document, and report on activities as needed * Maintaining musical instruments Desired Skills and Experience: * Proficient Percussionist * Professional or Industry Experience in Music (performance, teaching, etc.) * Background and/or familiarity with ensemble music * Basic knowledge of instrumental function/design/tuning/pedagogy * Experience working with grade 6-12 students * Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations, including youth and adults * Strong oral and written communication skills, including public speaking skills * Ability to work independently and be flexible
