OVERVIEW

Morgan County Extension seeks a dependable individual for a position providing assistance for Morgan County Extension/4-H programs and activities. This position is contingent on funds, need, and performance from year to year.

This position is working 12-15 hours per week. May work nights and weekends as needed.

Typical Hours for September-May: T-TH 1:00-5:00 p.m. plus a couple of Mondays & Fridays a month. Typical Hours for June-August: T-TH, 8:00 a.m.- 3:00 p.m. plus a couple of Mondays & Fridays a month.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  1. Provides assistance in planning, development, teaching, and evaluation of various 4-H Programs such as Cloverbuds, Afterschool, Teen Council, and Summer Camps.
  2. Determine what topics will be taught in each program, write lesson plans, and develop questions for surveys to evaluate effectiveness of programs.
  3. Develop program promotion flyers, provide assistance in recruiting youth to join programs, and provide assistance in recruiting volunteers to help with 4-H Programs.
  4. Prepare supply lists for various programs and order supplies when needed.
  5. Performs a variety of tasks related to 4-H participation for county fair, contests, fundraisers, awards programs, workshops, etc.
  6. Utilizes computer to access data, lesson plans, and resources via the internet; conducts various levels of research to determine which lessons and curricula will be the best fit for 4-H Programs.
  7. Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND CERTIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma (or equivalent), plus knowledge and experience with the 4-H Youth Development Program.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Knowledge: 4-H youth development program. STEM topics such as robotics.

Skills: Oral and written communication skills. Computer and technology skills including social media. Exceptional organizations and interpersonal skills.

Abilities: Be a team player in planning, organizing and implementing innovative and effective programs. Excel in a flexible and creative environment. Demonstrate qualities of being a self-motivated/self-starter, work with little supervision, and a willing to try something new. Effectively balance multiple tasks/programs at once.

SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Must possess a valid Utah Driver's License and must be at least 16 years of age.
