The District Support Center (Finance Department) is seeking a Payroll Assistant.
Position Summary
We are looking for an employee who is interested in learning payroll at Morgan County School District. The selected candidate will assist in the accurate processing and recording of the monthly payroll, preparing and submitting appropriate taxes and reports in an accurate and timely basis, and resolving any payroll issues and concerns.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities
- Motivated to learn payroll.
- Strong understand Excel and 10-key.
- Will assist the Payroll Manager in fulfilling all payroll duties and will learn payroll system.
- Help ensure payroll procedures are administered in compliance with governmental regulations, including Colorado Public Employees’ Retirement Association (PERA) rules, IRS regulations and district policy. Create and maintain payroll process documentation.
- Provide assistance to District employees regarding payroll policies, practices, and procedures.
- Perform duties and responsibilities associated with the processing of the monthly payroll.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Preferred experience in finance, business, accounting, or payroll.
Salary : $38,503 - $49,003
