Job Summary
Under administrative direction, plans, organizes, supervises, and evaluates the custodial services of all District and school facilities; supervises and evaluates custodial personnel; assumes responsibilities and performs related duties as required. Employee may be asked to work weekends and days on an as needed basis.
The Maintenance Supervisor I (Custodial) will work to enhance and improve the custodial staff’s working behaviors by fostering a culture of energy conservation. Adapting new behaviors and empowering custodians to be more observant will offer critical insight about ways to lower building energy footprints through effectively managing building operations.

Minimum Qualifications
Education
High school diploma or equivalent is required; college level training in horticulture, supervision, turf management, and related fields is desirable; AA or higher degree is desirable.
Experience:
Three years of recent responsible experience in the custodial field, including at least one year at a supervisory or lead level is required; training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to accomplish the duties listed; a broad range of experience in a public school setting is preferred. High school and year-round experience is desirable.
Other:
Must possess a valid California Driver’s License and maintain possession of such license during the course of employment. Must be insurable at standard rates and maintain such insurability during the course of employment.
