What are the responsibilities and job description for the Varsity Assistant Track & Field Coach position at Morenci Middle High School?
Morenci Area Schools is seeking an individual to fill our Varsity Assistant Track & Field coaching position. Interested candidates must understand their responsibility to be exemplary role models, (on and off the job) great teachers, (of sport-specific and general life skills), and great communicators, (with players, parents, and the community at large).
PAY RATE
Per Bargaining Agreement
SUMMARY
To help each participating student achieve a high level of skill, an understanding of the strategies of the sport, an appreciation for the values of discipline, sportsmanship, and teamwork, and an increased level of self-esteem.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Knowledgeable about the rules and fundamental techniques required of the sport
- Ability to obtain current CPR/AED/First Aid certification
- Ability to work effectively with sports coaching staff, parents, and school staff
- Experience working with high school-aged students preferred
- Previous successful coaching experience
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Comply with MHSAA rules/off-season policies as well as department/district policies
- Maintain consistent communication with the Athletic Director
- Plan and execute well-organized practices
- Develop character, commitment, and confidence in student-athletes
- Maintain effective pre-season and in-season conditioning programs
- Model exemplary behavior toward players, parents, opponents, and officials
- Other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director as applicable
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise student-athletes in that sport.
- Supervise any students or persons associated with that sport.
