Craft Academy Student Services at Morehead State University is accepting applications for a full-time, 11-month position as a Mental Health Counselor (Craft). The anticipated start date is November 16, 2025.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The Mental Health Counselor provides mental health counseling services, wellness programming, and consults with other college faculty/ staff as needed on the mental health needs of the Craft Academy student population. Provides direct clinical services, individual therapy, group therapy, assessment and referral services, crisis intervention, and psychological consultation for students. When not providing clinical services for Craft Academy students, collaborates with the University’s Counseling & Health Services to provide clinical case management, intake and crisis services, and programming to university students. Maintains confidential clinical records in accordance with state and federal laws and standards of professional ethics.
REQUIREMENTS: Master’s degree or Doctorate Degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or similar field. Licensed in the Commonwealth of Kentucky as a Licensed Professional Clinical Associate (LPCA), Licensed Psychological Associate (LPA), Clinical Social Worker (CSW), or Licensed Professional Art Therapist Associate (LPATA) and can obtain independent licensure within two years of hire date. One year of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Independently licensed in the Commonwealth of Kentucky as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), Licensed Psychological Practitioner (LPP), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Art Therapist (LPAT). Experience working with teenagers and young adults. Experience working with college-age students from culturally diverse backgrounds.

Organizational Relationships
Reports to the Director of the Craft Academy in the Division of Academic Affairs. Works collaboratively with, and under the clinical oversight of, the Director of Counseling & Health Services in the Division of Student Affairs. This position interacts with students, parents, faculty, and staff. This position works closely with community mental health providers and the University Counseling & Health Services department.
