This position will drive sales through our three-tier distribution structure while achieving targeted distribution. You will create professional sales relationships with key wine and liquor stores, grocery stores, retailers and distributors throughout New Jersey, with occasional market work in New York.

Position: Area Sales Manager
Full Time
Location: New Jersey and New York
Preferred candidates will live in North/Central New Jersey with the ability to travel to NY/NYC
Responsibilities
· Report directly to the Regional Sales Manager and strategize weekly sales and merchandizing objectives
· Create a weekly route and visit 40 accounts per week minimum, including independent wine and liquor stores, chains, and convenience stores; Utilize VIP/Karma to log accounts visits, track POS placements, and track order commitments
· Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales growth in-line with overall goals and KPIs
· Responsible for brand execution at the market level. Brand standards to include: pricing, shelf placement, display, and bottle placement
· Build relationships to open new accounts and chains; Communicate with the distributor management team on a weekly basis to highlight any new account openings, any reorders gained, POS that is needed in the market, or inventory issues
· Ensure chain authorizations and promotions are executed properly according to brand standards
· Monitor and evaluate distributor and customer response to our products
· Team up with distributor reps on a monthly basis to work the market to gain new placements and increase volume sales
· Participate in once-a-quarter distributor meetings to present to the sales team and build a rapport
· Execute any local sampling events or tastings on an as-needed basis to build brand awareness in the market, nights and weekends may be necessary
· Make note of any competitive trends and report appropriate developments
Qualifications
· 3 years experience in beverage sales; previous experience in wine & spirits industry a plus
· Proven track record of growing and gaining new business with top accounts
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Effective self-management skills, specifically time management and route planning
· Relationship building and selling skills a must
· Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and proficiency in email required
· Proficiency in Business Trade Math (Margin, Mark Up, Inverse Margin, Blended Margin, Breakeven, etc)
· Ability to lift and move product cases frequently
· Must be a licensed & insured driver with a car, with the ability to drive to account visits
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain focus on key initiatives
