Construction Estimator

Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Construction Estimator to join our team. This position requires understanding and knowledge of industrial construction estimating in the areas of concrete finishing, structural steel, process piping and welding. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate project cost estimates, analyzing project plans and specifications, and supporting the bidding process for various construction projects. This role requires a strong understanding of construction processes, excellent negotiation skills, and proficiency with industry-standard estimating tools. The Construction Estimator will play a critical role in ensuring project profitability and successful project delivery by providing precise cost analysis and effective communication with clients and subcontractors. Wages are negotiable depending on experience and knowledge of the industries. A background check may be required for some of the jobs we work on.

Duties

• Develop comprehensive construction estimates by reviewing blueprints, specifications, and project documents using tools such as Bluebeam.
• Collaborate with project managers, clients, and subcontractors to gather pricing information and negotiate contracts to secure favorable terms.
• Prepare detailed cost proposals including labor, materials, equipment, and overhead costs while maintaining accuracy and competitiveness.
• Monitor project costs throughout the bidding process to ensure estimates align with budget expectations.
• Assist in the development of project schedules and contribute to overall construction management strategies.
• Conduct site visits to assess conditions that may impact costs or scheduling.
• Support contract negotiations by providing technical expertise on scope of work, pricing, and risk management.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of construction industry trends, pricing fluctuations, and new estimating technologies.
• Perform cost control analysis during project execution to identify potential overruns or savings opportunities.

Requirements

• Proven experience in construction estimating with a strong background in construction projects and site management.
• Proficiency with Bluebeam, Excel, and other estimating software tools.
• Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, vendors, and subcontractors.
• Strong understanding of construction contracts, project management principles, and cost control techniques.
• Ability to interpret complex blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications accurately.
• Knowledge of construction site operations and safety protocols is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
