Job Overview
Seeking a motivated and outgoing Direct Support Professional to work with an individual located in the Johnstown area. In this role, you will support the individual in working toward their outcome goals by providing person-centered supports, tailored to the individual’s direct support needs.
The Direct Support Professional position is an as needed position (~3-5 hours a week) requiring availability for Monday and Wednesday evenings as well as occasional Saturday's. This role will primarily support the individual with community activities, classes, and events.

Responsibilities
- Provide supports in the individual’s home and within the community
- Assist the individual in building community and increasing community engagement
- Guide the individual in building age-appropriate friendships and building social skills
- Foster independence and an environment that is supportive of the individual meeting their personal goals
- Ensure the health, dignity and safety of the individual
- Complete daily service notes through accurate documentation of activities and support provided
- Collaborate with family members and other support staff to best meet the needs of the individual
Qualifications
- 1-2 years of professional and/or personal experience working with individuals with autism and/or other intellectual or developmental disabilities
- 1-2 years of professional and/or personal experience in a support and/or caregiving role
Job Requirements
- A valid driver’s license
- Reliable transportation
- CPR and First Aid certified
- Criminal background check
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
