Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and energetic Accounting Specialist to join our dynamic team. You will manage daily financial operations, focusing on Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR). The ideal candidate works well independently with minimal supervision. You will also collaborate with team members on special projects when needed.
Responsibilities
- Manage AP: Process invoices, verify expenses, and seek internal approvals.
- Manage AR: Issue customer invoices, apply payments, and monitor aging reports.
- Reconcile Expenses: Perform monthly corporate credit card reconciliations and verify all expenses are coded correctly to the general ledger.
- Maintain Confidentiality: Handle sensitive financial records and vendor information with total discretion.
- Track Assets & Inventory: Monitor, track, and record company fixed assets and inventory levels to ensure ledger accuracy.
- Data Entry: Maintain accurate financial records within our ERP system.
- Problem Solving: Resolve billing discrepancies with vendors and customers.
Qualifications
- Experience: 2 years of general accounting, AP, and AR experience.
- Expense Tracking: Direct experience with credit card reconciliation and general ledger expense coding.
- Confidentiality: Proven track record of handling sensitive financial information securely.
- Software: Proficiency with accounting systems (NetSuite experience is a strong bonus).
- Skills: Strong understanding of general accounting principles (GAAP).
- Attributes: High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Work Style: Proven ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Collaboration: Comfortable working occasionally with cross-functional teams.
- Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
