Role Description The Cobot Robot Welding Supervisor is a full-time, on-site position located in Onaway, MI. This role oversees daily operations of collaborative robot (cobot) welding processes, ensuring that robotic welding activities meet safety, quality, and production standards. Responsibilities include planning and assigning work, monitoring weld quality, performing and overseeing welding inspections, and coordinating maintenance and calibration of cobot welding equipment. The supervisor trains and assists team members in welding techniques, safety procedures, and proper use of cobots, while collaborating with engineering and quality teams to optimize welding programs and workflows. The role also involves documenting production results, identifying process improvements, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives in the welding area
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Supervisory Skills, including team leadership, task delegation, performance monitoring, and coaching in a manufacturing or welding environment.
- Candidates should possess Welding and TIG Welding skills, with hands-on experience in setting up, operating, and troubleshooting welding equipment and cobot welding systems.
- Candidates should possess Welding Inspection and Quality Control skills, including the ability to interpret weld standards, read blueprints, perform visual and measurement-based inspections, and maintain quality documentation.
- Relevant technical experience with robotic or automated welding systems, including programming or adjusting cobot parameters, is beneficial.
- A background in manufacturing, industrial technology, or a related field, supported by vocational training, apprenticeship, or an associate degree, is preferred.
- Knowledge of workplace safety regulations, PPE requirements, and safe practices in welding and robotics environments is important.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and effective communication skills are essential.
- Experience in healthcare-related or regulated industry manufacturing, while not required, is a plus.
