Mora Oak Park in Oak Park, IL is looking for one executive chef to join our team. We are located on 201 Harrison Street. Our ideal candidate is self-driven, ambitious, and hard-working.
We are an established, high-volume sushi and Asian fusion restaurant (85 seats) in Chicago seeking a hands-on Executive Chef to take full ownership of kitchen operations.
We are in a rebuilding phase and need a leader who can stabilize the team, implement structure, and drive performance.
This role is ideal for:
- A current Executive Chef who wants more control and upside
- OR a strong Sous Chef ready to step into an Executive Chef role
What You’ll Do
- Lead all kitchen operations (sushi hot line)
- Hire, train, and develop a reliable team
- Take ownership of food quality and consistency
- Control food cost, inventory, and ordering
- Build schedules and manage labor efficiently
- Implement systems that improve speed and reduce stress
- Work directly with ownership on menu and profitability
What We’re Looking For
- Proven kitchen leadership experience (Exec Chef or strong Sous)
- Ability to take control of a kitchen and stabilize it quickly
- Strong understanding of food cost and labor management
- Experience in high-volume service
- Sushi or Asian cuisine experience preferred
- Availability for nights and weekends
