Responsibilities
- Perform thorough cleaning of floors, restrooms, offices, hallways, and common areas using appropriate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and scrubbers.
- Handle chemical agents safely, following all chemical handling safety procedures to prevent accidents or contamination.
- Conduct sanitation procedures including trash removal, dusting, disinfecting surfaces, and replenishing supplies in restrooms and kitchens.
- Operate cleaning machinery and tools efficiently while adhering to safe lifting practices during heavy lifting or manual handling tasks.
- Maintain cleanliness standards by inspecting work areas regularly and addressing any issues promptly.
- Follow safety protocols consistently to ensure a secure working environment for yourself and others.
- Assist with facilities maintenance tasks such as minor repairs or painting as needed to support overall building upkeep.
Experience
- Prior janitorial or custodial experience in commercial or industrial settings is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with cleaning equipment including floor buffers, vacuums, and steam cleaners.
- Knowledge of chemical agent handling safety procedures and sanitation standards.
- Experience with heavy lifting and manual handling in accordance with safe lifting practices.
- Strong understanding of safety protocol adherence within facilities maintenance environments.
- Customer service skills are a plus for interacting professionally with staff and visitors during cleaning routines.
- Previous porter or maintenance experience is advantageous for supporting broader facility operations.
