Security: 3rd Shift Home Monitor

Mooseheart Child City & School is seeking dedicated individuals to join our Security Team. Our Security Officers play a vital role in protecting our campus community-youth, staff, and visitors-while supporting a safe, structured environment that aligns with our mission.

Shifts

What You'll Do

Friday, Saturday, Sunday & Monday 9:45pm-6:15am w/occasional 11pm-7am shifts

Campus Safety & Monitoring

• Monitor the Mooseheart campus to ensure a safe and secure environment.
• Conduct residence home and bed checks to confirm proper youth locations.
• Provide security and traffic control for on-campus events.
• Assist staff and residents as needed.
  
  

Incident Response

• Respond promptly to emergency situations according to departmental procedures.
• Investigate building alarms, determine the cause, and ensure facilities are secure.
• Report suspicious persons, vehicles, or incidents on campus.
  
  

Documentation & Communication

• Document all incidents accurately and thoroughly.
• Report deviations in youth count to the appropriate Family Teacher.
• Maintain confidentiality and share information only on a need-to-know basis.
  
  

Equipment & Vehicle Care

• Maintain assigned security vehicles in clean, safe operating condition and report any issues to the Chief of Security.
  
  

Other Responsibilities

• Complete and maintain all required certifications (CPR, First Aid, Fire Extinguisher).
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Chief of Security or Executive Director of Operations.
  
  

What You Bring

Education & Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 21 years of age.
  
  

Skills & Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with residents, staff, and visitors.
• Keen observational skills and ability to notice unusual or suspicious activity.
• Ability to act with professionalism, integrity, and sound judgment.
• Reliable work history and strong teamwork mindset.
• Valid Illinois driver's license with a clean driving record (no suspensions within the past 3 years).
