Duties
- Assist with patient intake procedures, including collecting medical histories and recording vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration.
- Prepare patients for examinations and procedures by explaining processes and ensuring comfort.
- Support physicians with clinical tasks such as administering medications, perform EKG's and various other tasks.
- Manage electronic health record (EHR) systems accurately by documenting patient information, treatment notes, ICD coding (International Classification of Diseases), and updating medical records efficiently.
- Conduct routine laboratory tasks like specimen collection and processing, as well as assisting with inpatient procedures.
- Support doctors by monitoring patient vitals and assisting with medication administration under supervision.
- Handle medical administrative duties such as appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Assist with diagnostic procedures like X-ray or other imaging techniques in appropriate clinical settings.
- Ensure infection control protocols are followed diligently to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.
Experience
- Prior experience a plus but willing to train. Must have completed an acredited medical assisting program.
- Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, ICD coding, and medication administration processes.
- Experience supporting inpatient care at Level I or Level II trauma centers is advantageous.
- Familiarity with EHR systems used for documentation and patient management is essential.
- Strong understanding of patient service principles combined with excellent communication skills to provide compassionate care across diverse populations.

Pay: From $18.50 per hour
