Role Description
The Recreation Department is seeking a Part-Time Kitchen Chef to lead hands-on culinary programs primarily for youth, with some adult classes offered throughout the year. This role is perfect for someone who loves cooking, teaching, and working in a fun, community-focused environment.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and lead engaging cooking classes and kitchen programs for youth
- Create age-appropriate menus and lesson plans tailored to each group
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized kitchen environment
- Follow all health, safety, and food-handling regulations
- Communicate clearly with participants, parents, and recreation staff
Qualifications:
- Valid ServSafe certification (required)
- Experience working with children and/or teaching group classes
- Strong knowledge of basic cooking techniques and kitchen safety
- Ability to manage groups in a positive, energetic, and organized manner
