Position Overview
The Front of House Manager is responsible for leading the daily operations of the restaurant’s front-of-house team, including wait staff and bar staff. This role is the face of the front of house and ensures smooth service, exceptional guest experiences, and efficient coordination between departments. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong hospitality experience, training skills, exceptional organizational skills, and a passion for team development and service excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and support front-of-house operations, including dining room and bar service.
- Manage, schedule, train and supervise wait staff and bar staff to ensure high performance and professionalism.
- Conduct bar inventory, manage supply orders, and track usage to maintain cost control.
- Train, mentor, and evaluate front-of-house team members to ensure consistent quality and service standards.
- Book and coordinate private events, member events and social events, including working with clients, vendors, and staff to ensure successful execution.
- Work behind the bar and floor as needed.
- Monitor guest satisfaction and respond promptly to inquiries or issues.
- Collaborate with the kitchen and management teams to ensure seamless communication and service flow.
- Enforce health, safety, and sanitation standards.
- Assist in maintaining service procedures and standards of service, staff guidelines, and operational systems.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in a supervisory or management role within a restaurant, bar, or hospitality setting. Private club experience a plus.
- Strong leadership, communication, training and organizational skills required.
- Proven ability to manage staff, coordinate schedules, and handle fast-paced environments.
- Experience with bar inventory management and event planning required.
- Excellent problem-solving and customer service abilities.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
