Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Asphalt Paver Operator/Machine Operator to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating heavy machinery essential to paving projects, ensuring the smooth and efficient laying of asphalt surfaces. Duties
- Operate asphalt pavers and other heavy equipment such as excavators, loaders, and dump trucks to facilitate paving operations.
- Prepare the construction site by setting up equipment, ensuring proper alignment, and verifying grade levels for accurate paving results.
- Manage material delivery and distribution by coordinating with concrete mixers, concrete pumping systems, and other machinery to ensure consistent asphalt flow.
- Assist with concrete forming, rebar installation, and finishing tasks to support the overall quality of the pavement structure.
- Conduct routine inspections of machinery and perform basic maintenance to maintain optimal operation and safety standards.
- Collaborate with team members on-site to execute paving plans efficiently while adhering to safety protocols and project specifications.
- Support additional construction activities such as site cleanup, material handling, and logistical coordination as needed.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating heavy equipment including asphalt pavers, excavators, loaders, and dump trucks in a construction environment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues quickly.
- Knowledge of concrete mixing, pouring, finishing, and rebar installation is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with construction site safety practices and procedures.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) or equivalent certification preferred for operating commercial vehicles.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions with physical stamina for demanding tasks.
- Prior experience in paving projects or related construction roles is a plus.
