Job Description:
We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated Special Education Teacher to lead a small separate setting classroom at our public Montessori school. This role supports students with learning, behavioral, and developmental needs who benefit from a more individualized and structured environment.
The teacher will design and implement specialized instruction aligned with students' IEP goals, incorporating Montessori principles where appropriate. Collaboration with general education staff, support personnel, and families is essential to promote student growth, inclusion, and independence.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide individualized instruction and support in a self-contained classroom
Develop and implement IEPs in coordination with the special education team
Use Montessori-aligned methods when appropriate to support student learning
Maintain a safe, structured, and nurturing environment
Monitor and document student progress and behavior
Communicate regularly with families and related service providers
Qualifications:
Special Education Teaching License
Familiarity with or willingness to learn Montessori philosophy
