Diesel Technician

Moore Diesel Repair LLC
Goodrich, MI Full Time | Part Time
POSTED ON 10/26/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 2/22/2027

Moore Diesel Repair LLC is a small, growing mobile diesel repair company looking for an experienced Mobile Diesel Mechanic / Heavy-Duty Technician to join our team.

We take pride in providing dependable, honest, high-quality service to our customers and are looking for someone who wants to be more than just another employee. This is an opportunity to work directly with the owner, help build and grow the company, develop long-term relationships with customers, and take on more responsibility as the business continues to expand.

We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, can think through problems, and is comfortable working independently in the field. Because we are a small company, reliability, communication, attitude, and quality of work are just as important as mechanical ability.

What You'll Be Doing

You will perform mobile diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on commercial trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment at customer locations. Work will include preventive maintenance, brakes, suspension, steering, electrical diagnostics and repair, engine-related repairs, drivability concerns, aftertreatment/emissions diagnostics, HVAC, and general mechanical repairs.

This is a field-service position, so you must be comfortable diagnosing problems without having an entire shop around you and determining the best way to get the customer's equipment back in service.

You'll also communicate directly with customers, document repairs and findings, keep accurate job notes, maintain an organized service truck, and communicate with the owner regarding repairs, parts, scheduling, and customer needs.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous diesel, heavy-duty truck, fleet, or heavy-equipment repair experience
  • Strong mechanical and diagnostic abilities
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems
  • Ability to work independently and make good decisions in the field
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOT medical card
  • Dependable and willing to show up when scheduled
  • Professional when dealing with customers
  • Takes pride in doing repairs correctly
  • Keeps tools, service truck, and work areas clean and organized
  • Willing to learn and continue improving
  • Comfortable working outdoors and in changing field conditions

You do not need to know everything. We're more interested in someone with a strong mechanical foundation who knows how to troubleshoot, is willing to learn, and isn't afraid to ask questions when needed.

What We Provide

  • Company service truck
  • Specialty and diagnostic equipment
  • Company-paid parts and job-related supplies
  • Mobile/field-service work with a variety of equipment
  • Direct communication with the owner—no large corporate management structure
  • Opportunity for additional hours as the company grows
  • Opportunity to take on greater responsibility and grow with the business
  • Full-time or part-time opportunities available
  • Pay based on experience and ability
