What are the responsibilities and job description for the Substitute Teacher position at Moorcroft Elementary?
SUMMARY
Under the general supervision of the school principal or designee, Substitute Teachers carry out the instructional and supervisory duties of the regular classroom teacher in their absence. The Substitute Teacher is responsible for maintaining a safe, respectful, and productive learning environment, following the plans provided by the classroom teacher and school administration.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
This position reports to the School Principal or designated school administrator.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Implements lesson plans and instructional materials provided by the regular classroom teacher.

Manages student behavior in accordance with school policies to maintain a positive and productive learning environment.

Supervises students in the classroom, hallways, cafeteria, playground, and other assigned areas.

Provides feedback to the regular teacher regarding student performance and classroom events during their absence.

Maintains the confidentiality of student records and information.

Follows all district, school, and classroom policies and procedures.

Maintains a professional attitude and appearance at all times.

Performs other duties as assigned by the school administrator or designee.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's Degree preferred.

Must hold a valid Wyoming Substitute Teacher Permit through the Wyoming Professional Teaching Standards Board (PTSB) or be eligible to obtain one.

Must pass a criminal background check in accordance with district policy.
