3rd Grade Math Teacher

Position Title: 3rd Grade Math Teacher
Location: Elementary school (Grades 3), Michigan
Summary:

• Plan and deliver math lessons aligned with state standards (for Grade 3) that build number sense, arithmetic (addition/subtraction/multiplication/division), basic geometry, measurement and data.
• Monitor student progress, differentiate instruction for diverse learners, support students who need remediation or extension.
• Create a positive classroom climate that encourages mathematical thinking, problem solving, discussion and collaboration.
• Communicate with parents/guardians about student progress in math and collaborate with grade-level colleagues to integrate math across the curriculum.
• Maintain accurate records, assess student work, use data to inform instruction, and participate in professional development.
• Use manipulatives, visual models and other instructional tools to make math concrete and engaging.

• Possibly supervise classroom routines, manage behaviour, contribute to school initiatives and support the school community.

Qualifications / Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education (or equivalent), preferably with a math endorsement or strong math background.
• Valid Michigan teaching certificate/licensure (Elementary, with ability to teach math) or eligibility.
• Experience (preferred) teaching elementary math, or substitute/primary classroom experience.
• Strong understanding of early math concepts and ability to scaffold learning.
• Good communication skills (with students, parents, colleagues).
• Commitment to student growth, collaborative mindset and classroom management skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
