Duties
- Greet guests with a friendly, positive attitude upon arrival, making them feel valued and comfortable
- Manage reservations and waitlists efficiently using POS (Point of Sale) systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS
- Seat guests promptly, ensuring smooth flow of the dining area and optimal table utilization
- Communicate effectively with servers and kitchen staff to coordinate guest seating and special requests
- Answer incoming phone calls with professionalism, providing information about wait times or reservations
- Maintain cleanliness and organization at the host stand, ensuring a welcoming environment at all times
- Assist with guest inquiries, provide directions within the restaurant, and handle any special needs or requests with courtesy
Skills
- Previous experience as a Host or Hostess in food service or restaurant settings preferred
- Strong customer service skills with a genuine desire to create positive guest experiences
- Excellent communication skills, including phone etiquette and active listening abilities
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS for reservation management
- Knowledge of food safety standards and hospitality best practices
- Organizational skills to manage reservations, waitlists, and guest flow efficiently
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism
- Experience in hotel or hospitality industries is a plus but not required
