Barista/Cashier

We are looking for a barista who will be taking orders from the customer and preparing Asian style boba tea drinks. Candidates will be trained on the day-to-day operation and how to use the equipment to become an expert in the boba tea beverage. As the boba tea beverage may not be a familiar concept to the area, the barista would be responsible for educating the customers on the beverage and how to order. While the barista will always be working with the kitchen staff to ensure the food and drink orders are fulfilled, the barista will either have to work at the front by themselves or with another barista depending on the shift. All in all, good customer service skills, willingness to learn and to work with others, and task management skills in a fast paced environment are the key attributes to a successful barista at Mooncat Boba Cafe.

Responsibilities

• Engage with customers to take their orders and educate customers on how to order as needed
• Operate cash register and Point-Of-Sales (POS) system
• Receive and manage phone/online orders
• Master the knowledge of all drink recipes and production method
• Efficiently make drinks in accurate and repeatable manners
• Ensure all ingredient stocks and materials are topped up during and between shifts
• Maintain cleanliness at your stations and customer area
• Perform store opening tasks or closing tasks depending on the shift
• Be respectful and have fun!

Preferred Skills

• Previous work experience as a Barista or Waiter/Waitress
• Knowledge of sanitation regulations and Food Safety
• Flexibility to work various shifts
• Basic math skills
• Excellent communication skills

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $11.00 - $14.00 per hour

Benefits:

• Flexible schedule (Schedule determines weekly. We will work around your availability.)
• Paid training (First 5 shifts would be training at $11/hr. Upon training completion, pay will be bumped up to $12/hr tips.)
