Job Summary                                                                                                                                                                                  

As a Retail Yard Order Puller at Moon Valley Nurseries, you will be responsible for accurately and efficiently fulfilling customer orders by presenting the highest quality trees, shrubs, and plants. Your primary role will involve retrieving items from the nursery inventory, organizing them for pickup or delivery, and ensuring that orders are complete and ready for customer satisfaction. This position requires attention to detail, physical stamina, and a commitment to providing outstanding customer service.

 Key Duties and Responsibilities                                                                                                                                          

• Retrieve items from the nursery inventory based on customer orders, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Use order sheets to locate and select the correct plants, trees, and shrubs for each order.
• Inspect plants for signs of damage, disease, or pests before pulling them for orders. Ensure that only high-quality, healthy specimens are selected for customer fulfillment.
• Organize pulled items in designated loading areas, ensuring that orders are grouped together and labeled accurately.
• Communicate any discrepancies or shortages to the appropriate personnel to ensure timely replenishment.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines while performing order pulling tasks. Use proper lifting techniques and equipment to prevent injuries and ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
• Demonstrated availability to work any day of the week.
• Other duties and tasks as assigned.

Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills & Abilities                                                                                                                 

• Ability to perform manual labor.
• Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, including plants and trees of varying sizes.
• Previous experience with operating power tools, hand tools, and other equipment preferred.
• Ability to follow specific instructions and safety protocols.

Education                                                                                                                                                                                          

High School diploma or equivalent preferred.

 Physical requirements/Working Conditions                                                                                                                

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to verbally exchange information with colleagues, managers and vendors. The position is active and may require standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing throughout the day. The employee must frequently reach for, pull, lift, and/or move items weighing up to and over 75 lbs. The employee must be able to work outdoors for extended periods of time in possibly extreme conditions, including rain, heat, sun, and wind.
