Job Summary
Moon Valley Nurseries is seeking a highly organized, results-driven Operations Project Manager to lead and execute strategic initiatives across the company. This role will support both corporate and field operations by developing scalable processes, driving operational improvements, and managing high-impact projects that fuel company growth.
The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. This is a high-visibility role that works directly with leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with organizational goals.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Project Leadership: Manage medium-to-large-scale projects (some exceeding $1M) from planning through completion, ensuring delivery on time and within budget.
- Operations Support: Partner with corporate and field teams to improve procedures, optimize scheduling, and implement scalable processes.
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Serve as the central point of contact for corporate initiatives, facilitating alignment and collaboration across departments.
- Reporting & Accountability: Provide concise updates to executives and stakeholders, track risks, and hold teams accountable to deliverables.
- Process Improvement: Identify inefficiencies, develop solutions, and implement best practices to drive operational efficiency.
- Documentation & Analysis: Maintain project documentation, trackers, and reporting dashboards using Excel and project management tools.
- Communication & Presentations: Develop clear, professional reports and presentations to support decision-making and communicate progress.

Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- 3–5 years of project management experience, preferably in operations, retail, or field services.
- Demonstrated success leading projects with budgets exceeding $1M.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, data analysis).
- Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., Monday, Smartsheet, Confluence, Asana, MS Project).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-starter with a strong sense of accountability and follow-through.
- PMP or other project management certification.
- Experience in retail operations, horticulture, agriculture, or landscaping.
- Familiarity with ERP or inventory systems (Oracle preferred).
- Background in process improvement or strategic planning.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, or a related field required.
Master’s degree preferred but not required.
Physical requirements/Working Conditions
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 15 pounds. Able to work outdoors for extended periods of time in possibly extreme conditions, including rain, heat, sun, and wind.
