Job Summary                                                                                                                                                                                  

 As a Retail Yard Irrigation Technician at Moon Valley Nurseries, you will play a critical role in maintaining the functionality and efficiency of our irrigation systems. Your primary responsibilities will include inspecting, repairing, and maintaining irrigation equipment to ensure proper water distribution throughout the retail yard. This position requires technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to environmental sustainability.

 Key Duties and Responsibilities                                                                                                                                          

• Conduct routine inspections all irrigation/spaghetti weekly/monthly
• Diagnose and troubleshoot irrigation system problems, including leaks, clogs, and valve issues.
• Utilize appropriate tools and techniques to perform repairs or replacements of damaged or faulty irrigation components, such as pipes, valves, timers, and controllers. Ensure that all repairs comply with industry standards and regulations. resolve issues promptly and efficiently.
• Maintain and report accurate records of irrigation system maintenance activities, repairs, and replacements, as well as system performance, water usage, and any observed issues or concerns. Communicate findings to the yard manager on shift and recommend solutions for improvement.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
• Demonstrated availability to work any day of the week.
• Other duties and tasks as assigned.

Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills & Abilities                                                                                                                 

• Ability to perform manual labor.
• Previous experience with operating power tools, hand tools, and other equipment preferred.
• Knowledge of irrigation principles, components, and technologies.
• Ability to follow specific instructions and safety protocols.

Education                                                                                                                                                                                          

High School diploma or equivalent preferred.

 Physical requirements/Working Conditions                                                                                                                

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to verbally exchange information with colleagues, managers and vendors. The position is active and may require standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing throughout the day. The employee must frequently reach for, pull, lift, and/or move items weighing up to and over 75 lbs. The employee must be able to work outdoors for extended periods of time in possibly extreme conditions, including rain, heat, sun, and wind.
