Responsibilities
- Operate tractor-trailers safely across local routes, adhering to all DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) standards
- Navigate using GPS systems to ensure timely deliveries and optimal routing
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery records, and vehicle inspections in compliance with DOT regulations
- Perform routine vehicle inspections before and after shifts to ensure safety and compliance
- Handle logistics cargo efficiently while ensuring the security of freight during transit
Experience
- Valid CDL-A license with a clean driving record
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, route driving, or delivery driving roles
- Familiarity with manual transmission trucks preferred but not required
- Experience with refrigerated trailers, flatbed trucks, tankers, or hazardous materials is a plus
- Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, hazardous materials regulations, and DOT compliance standards
- Ability to handle freight manually or with equipment like forklifts or dump trucks when necessary
- Strong understanding of logistics cargo handling and safety procedures
