Job Description
MoodysNWC is seeking a Technical Product Owner with deep expertise in data administration to lead the development, optimization, and governance of a data-centric, enterprise-wide system. The TPO will serve as the bridge between business needs and technical execution, ensuring data integrity, accessibility, compliance, and strategic value across the organization.
The ideal candidate will combine strong product ownership experience with a solid understanding of enterprise data management practices, enabling them to deliver scalable, reliable, and business-aligned data solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders, data engineers, architects, and development teams.
- Define and maintain the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for enterprise-wide data platforms and services.
- Translate business requirements into well-defined user stories, acceptance criteria, and technical specifications.
- Ensure data integrity, quality, security, and governance standards are upheld across all systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enable data accessibility and usability for analytics, reporting, and operational use.
- Prioritize and manage the product backlog to maximize business value delivery.
- Drive optimization and automation of data pipelines, workflows, and administration processes.
- Monitor product performance and proactively recommend improvements in scalability, efficiency, and compliance.
- Facilitate communication between non-technical stakeholders and technical teams to ensure alignment on goals and execution.
- Stay current with emerging trends in data platforms, governance frameworks, cloud technologies, and enterprise data management.
- Oversee data architecture, data modeling, and metadata management.
- Lead initiatives to improve data quality, lineage, and accessibility.
- Document existing processes related to data transformation completed by data admin.
- Partner with data resources to extract data from existing data sources and transform into formats for analysis and data load to ESMS
- Review data analyst activities for initial launch and lead data analyst activities, in collaboration with existing data admin., for Launch 2.
- Work closely with Business, Technology and vendor teams to deliver scalable solutions.
- Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and release management.
- Serve as the SME (Subject Matter Expert) for data-related product features.
- Provide progress reports to manager, working team and future identified teams on aligned upon cadence
Required Qualifications
- 5–7 years of experience as a Product Owner in data-driven or enterprise technology environments.
- Proven expertise in data administration, governance, and management (metadata, master data, data quality, and lifecycle).
- Strong knowledge of databases, data warehouses, and cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Experience working with CI/CD pipelines, APIs, and data integration tools.
- Strong understanding of data security, compliance, and privacy standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
- Exceptional skills in writing clear user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities, deliver against deadlines, and communicate effectively with technical and business stakeholders.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The salary for this position ranges from 100,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to 110,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Other forms of compensation are offered in the form of medical, vision, and dental benefits.
