What are the responsibilities and job description for the Reservations Specialist (Agent) position at Moody Gardens, Inc.?
The Reservations Specialist Agent is to answer telephone inquiries in a friendly and courteous manner, and employ sales techniques in order to secure and process reservations for guest accommodations in a timely manner consistent with our high standards of quality. The incumbent is authorized to take reasonable action necessary to carry out assigned duties and responsibilities, provided such action is consistent with position guidelines as outlined below or though the exercise of sound, reasonable judgement and initiative in the performance of job responsibilities. Position guidelines include, but are not limited to, established company and department policies and procedures and all supervisory directives.
Summary of essential duties:
1. Handles individual phone reservations
2. Greet prospective guests in a friendly manner using clear, verbal communication
3. Inputs and retrieves date using knowledge of the computer reservations system.
4. Assigns reservations based on guest preferences and availability.
6. Provides accurate and prompt information regarding availability
7. Assists Reservation Manager on any project needed.
8. Handles complaint in a tactful manner and negotiate resolutions
9. Answer questions regarding hotel facilities and services, local attractions, directions, etc.
10. Sends confirmation and hotel information packets upon guest requests.
11. Even out room types as needed.
12. Charge 72hour deposits in a timely manner.
13. Accept and review third party reservations.
14. Follow the reservations department checklist.
15. Cross sell the Moody Gardens Attractions and the Moody Gardens Golf Course.
Qualifications:

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- High School diploma preferred
- Call center experience preferred
