Duties
- Prepare and serve meals according to dietary guidelines and menu specifications, ensuring high-quality food production.
- Assist with food handling, sanitation, and kitchen cleanliness to maintain a safe and sanitary environment.
- Support meal service by bussing tables, cleaning dining areas, and ensuring proper food presentation.
- Follow food safety protocols and sanitation procedures to uphold health standards across all food preparation activities.
- Help with inventory management by receiving deliveries, storing supplies properly, and rotating stock as needed.
- Collaborate with the dietary team to plan menus that meet residents’ nutritional needs and preferences.
- Maintain accurate documentation of food temperatures, sanitation checks, and meal counts to ensure compliance with regulations.
Experience
- Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or the food industry is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated culinary experience with a focus on food preparation and presentation.
- Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures.
- Strong time management skills to efficiently prepare meals within scheduled times while maintaining quality.
- Experience in dietary department operations or as a dietary aide is preferred but not required; training will be provided for motivated candidates.
- Familiarity with serving residents or patients in healthcare settings enhances your ability to deliver compassionate customer service.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while managing multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
