What are the responsibilities and job description for the Product Intern position at Monty?
We're hiring our first Product Operations Intern at Monty Living — an AI-first property management platform for NYC condos, co-ops, HOAs, and rentals. Monty automates maintenance triage, runs a 24/7 resident chat trained on each building's documents, and coordinates staff workflows across portfolios. Web at montyliving.com, plus iOS and Android apps for residents and staff.
This is not a coffee-fetching internship. You'll work directly with the founders on the actual product, every week, with real ownership.
What you'll do
- QA every feature across web, iOS, and Android — find bugs before residents and property managers do
- Write clear PRDs for new features, working with the founder to translate fuzzy ideas into shippable specs
- File detailed bug tickets that we can act on without follow-up questions
- Walk through user flows from every role's perspective: resident, doorman, super, property manager, board member
- Help build and maintain internal documentation, test cases, and review checklists
- Get hands-on exposure to vibe coding — Monty is built in Lovable (web) and Rork (mobile), and you'll see how modern AI-assisted development actually works in practice
- Sit in on customer conversations, demos, and pilot building rollouts when schedule allows
What you'll learn
- How an AI-native B2B product gets built and shipped by a small team
- Product management fundamentals — writing specs, prioritizing tradeoffs, defining done
- QA at real depth — not just "does the button work" but "does this number match across every screen"
- How AI coding tools (Lovable, Rork, Claude Code, Cursor) change the shape of product development
- The NYC property management world — a large, traditional industry being rebuilt with AI
Who you are
- Rising junior, rising senior, or recent graduate (within the last year)
- Detail-obsessed in a way that occasionally annoys people. You notice when a comma is missing or a balance doesn't tie.
- Strong written communicator — most of this job is writing things clearly enough that others can act on them
- Curious about how products get built. You don't need to ship code, but you should want to understand why things break.
- Comfortable with ambiguity. Monty is pre-launch in some areas, scaling in others. You'll be figuring things out.
Pluses
- Coding experience of any kind — bootcamp, CS classes, side projects, hackathons
- Hands-on experience with Lovable, Claude Code, Cursor, or any AI-assisted dev tool
- Any exposure to property management, real estate, fintech, or AI tooling
The details
- $25/hour
- 20–25 hours per week
- 12 weeks, starting ASAP
- Remote-friendly, but NYC-based candidates strongly preferred — you'll be more useful if you can occasionally see buildings, residents, and staff in person
- Potential to convert to full-time after the 12 weeks for the right person
Salary : $25
