Responsibilities
- Patrol designated areas to deter crime and ensure community safety through visible presence and proactive engagement.
- Respond promptly to emergency calls, accidents, and incidents, providing first aid when necessary and coordinating with emergency services.
- Conduct criminal investigations by gathering evidence, interviewing witnesses, and preparing detailed reports in accordance with procedural law.
- Enforce traffic laws by conducting traffic stops, issuing citations, and managing accident scenes while ensuring safe operation of standard passenger vehicles.
- Apply arrest procedures accurately and lawfully while respecting individual rights under criminal procedure laws.
- Maintain surveillance using various techniques to monitor suspicious activity or persons of interest.
- Handle evidence law procedures diligently, ensuring proper collection, documentation, and chain of custody for all evidence.
- Engage in conflict management and use of force training to resolve disputes peacefully while prioritizing safety for all parties involved.
- Stay current on local ordinances, immigration law, animal handling regulations, and loss prevention protocols relevant to community policing efforts.
- Participate in ongoing training such as CPR certification, firearms handling in law enforcement scenarios, search and seizure law, procedural law knowledge, criminal law experience, and physical conditioning exercises.
Qualifications
- ACT 120 Certified by September 19.
- At least 21 years of age.
- High School diploma or GED.
- Proven ability to operate a standard passenger car safely under various conditions; valid driver’s license required.
- Background in military service or prior law enforcement experience highly desirable.
- Physical conditioning necessary to meet job demands including endurance for patrol duties and physical confrontations if needed.
