Role Description The Project Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Wasilla, AK, responsible for managing technical projects from concept through deployment and maintenance. This position will oversee the design, installation, and testing of weather data hardware systems, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and in alignment with performance and safety standards. Day-to-day tasks include preparing project plans and documentation, coordinating with internal teams and external partners, reviewing engineering drawings, and supporting field installations and troubleshooting. The Project Engineer will collaborate closely with operations, software, and logistics teams to integrate hardware solutions with Montis Corporation’s digital platforms and to continuously improve system reliability and efficiency.
Qualifications
- Strong Project Engineering, Electrical Engineering skills, and on-site installations with the ability to design, review, and implement hardware systems.
- Demonstrated Project Management and Project Planning skills to coordinate timelines, resources, and deliverables across multiple initiatives.
- Effective Communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams, vendors, and customers, and for producing clear technical documentation.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience with field installations, hardware testing, and troubleshooting in remote or challenging environments is beneficial.
- Familiarity with industrial controls, sensors, data acquisition systems, or weather instrumentation is an advantage.
- Ability to work on-site in Palmer, AK and, when needed, travel to deployment locations.
