NOW HIRING MONTICELLO MAIN STREET DIRECTOR
The Monticello community is excited to announce its recent Main Street Designation and open its search for its first Main Street Monticello Director. The Director should have an undergraduate degree and/or relevant, proven experience in Main Street or historic commercial district development, volunteer management, retailing, marketing, accounting, budgeting, historic preservation, or small business development, with preference of grant writing experience. The Director must be energetic, well-organized, ability to multitask, entrepreneurial, work well with others, be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds, and be capable of functioning effectively in an independent situation. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential. The Main Street Director should possess PC skills and preferably have knowledge of Word, Excel and QuickBooks. A current and valid driver's license is required.
The Main Street Director will work approximately 32 hours per week with the potential for full time hours in the future. The Director is responsible for developing revitalization strategies and recommendations in consultation with the appropriate bodies and coordinating their implementation to achieve project goals. The Main Street Director facilitates and coordinates the efforts of the local Main Street program committees, volunteers, and oversees daily operations. The Main Street Program Director works for the Main Street Board of Directors (BOD) and reports directly to the President of the Board of Directors.
