5th/6th Grade Special Education Resource Teacher and Interventionist
Full-Time/ 2026-27 School Year
Start Date: July 2026
Expectations:
- Required: Tennessee Dept. of Education Special Education certification
- Preferred: Related experience in a intermediate/middle grades setting
- Willingness to participate in a Performance Based Interview by conducting and modeling a lesson with students.
Qualities:
- Desire to build positive relationships with students and their families.
- Ability to work in collaboration with a team, accepting feedback and contributing in a professional learning community.
- Knowledge of the Tennessee State Content Standards and knowledge of effective learning processes and practices
- Approach to using both formative and summative assessment data to drive instruction
- Possess confidence in integrating technology into instruction and as a means of effective two-way communication with all stakeholders
- Desire to organize, participate and attend after-school and evening programming such as performances, parent meetings, and Open House
- Work with students to help them access the least restrictive environment for their educational needs.
- Provide behavioral and educational support for young children with special needs.
- Possess honesty, integrity, and professionalism
