Head Varsity Softball Coach

JOB DESCRIPTION: SOFTBALL HEAD COACH PART TIME Qualifications: • Current Alabama Teacher’s Certification (preferred) or classified dependent upon qualifications of the person holding the position • Previous Experience in sports as a participant and/or coach (preferred) but not required • Completion of all requirements set forth by the AHSAA Coaches’ Education Program • Must have or be willing to obtain CDL • Substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of softball and a willingness to examine new theories and procedures Essential Duties: • To instruct student-athletes in the fundamental skills, strategies, and physical conditioning necessary for them to realize a degree of individual and team success • To work with the athletic director in accomplishing the mission and goals of the athletic department • Instruct athletes in fundamentals, develop character, model expected behavior • Ability to work with players, parents, administration and other coaches • To adhere to the MPS Athletics Code of Ethics and Conduct for Sports Coaches • Attend the AHSAA sponsored rules clinic for his/her sport HOW TO APPLY: All applicants should complete the State of Alabama on-line application and attach it to the specific job number in order to be eligible for hire.
