August 25, 2026 NOTICE OF POSITION OPENING COORDINATOR OF ACCOUNTABILITY (12 month) TUSCALOOSA COUNTY CENTRAL OFFICE TUSCALOOSA COUNTY SCHOOLS Job Goal:To assist with the successful implementation and understanding of all components of accountability in the school system. Qualifications: Master’s degree in education. Alabama certification in school counseling or administration with additional courses in educational statistics, individual testing, supervision, advanced educational testing, measurement, and research preferred. Other certification may be required by the State Department of Education. Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and provide own transportation to various work locations. (If needed as part of job duties) Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in teaching, counseling, and/or assessment. Ability to meet the suitability criteria for employment and/or certification/licensure under the Alabama Child Protection Act of 1999 and Act No. 2002-457. Physical strength, mobility, dexterity, stamina, and acuity to perform job responsibilities. Ability to be punctual and in regular attendance. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may require. Performance Responsibilities and Essential Functions: Demonstrates support for the school system and its vision, goals and priorities. Coordinates the accountability process for the school system to include evaluation, monitoring, and maintenance of records. Coordinates and oversees the management and analysis of all data related to accountability at both the local school and school system level. Coordinates, implements, and monitors the graduation cohort tracking system to include the identification of barriers to graduation for students and the development of recommendations for strategies to eliminate those barriers. Supports all school counselors in the school system. Serves as the school system accountability coordinator. Develops and implements programs of effective in-service education for personnel involved in the accountability program, both at the local school and school-system level and provide professional development. Researches and recommends to the Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning alternate course and graduation pathways as options for students at-risk of dropping out. Assists with the graduation coaching process within the school system. Assists with district, cluster, and/or local school data meetings as directed. Assists and support the program of guidance services. Represents the school system as directed at conferences, committee sessions, training seminars, and/or State Department of Education or community meetings. Researches and recommends to the Assistant Superintendent policies and procedures related to accountability. Assumes all other reasonable and equitable duties as may be assigned by the Assistant Superintendent. Supports the MTSS program for the school district. Assists with monitoring graduation requirements for drop prevention and non-traditional program students. Supports dual enrollment, credit advancement and credit obtainment for school district. Possesses and maintains a comprehensive knowledge of testing programs and practices. Knowledge of local, state, and federal mandates related to testing and guidance. Strong ability to use technology to perform word processing and data management and analysis tasks. Ability to plan and organize effectively. Ability to plan and supervise the work of others. Ability to develop effective working relationships with students, staff, and the school community. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. Knowledge of various evaluation tools. Knowledge of state and local policies and procedures. Physical mobility, dexterity, strength and visual acuity to meet student needs, deal with student problems, and assist with building maintenance problems and school ground monitoring activities. Maintains appropriate confidentiality regarding school/workplace matters. Demonstrates initiative in identifying potential problems and/or opportunities for improvement in areas of responsibility. Responds to inquiries, requests, constructive feedback, concerns and/or complaints in a timely and positive manner. Maintains and submits reports, records, and correspondence in a timely and accurate manner. Properly uses and cares for equipment and material resources of the school system and effectively supervises and monitors others in the care, maintenance, and use of tools, equipment, and inventory. Uses effective collaboration skills to work as a productive team member. Adheres to school system rules, administrative procedures, local Board policies, and state, federal, and local regulations Reports absences and takes leave in accordance with Board policies and procedures. Performs any other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor(s). Terms of Employment: Twelve-month position in accordance with the Board’s salary schedule. Evaluation:Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the State Department of Education and/or Tuscaloosa County Board of Education policy on evaluation of administrative personnel. CONTRACT PERIOD – 12 months EFFECTIVE DATE – TBD Salary per the Tuscaloosa Teacher Salary Schedule at the Coordinator level based on degree and experience.
