Schedule: Monday – Friday

Peek behind the scenes - a day in the life of a Flooring Estimator.

As a Flooring Estimator, you’ll play a hands-on role in bringing projects to life from the ground up. You’ll meet directly with customers to capture precise measurements and transform their ideas into detailed layouts for flooring and tile installations. Acting as a key connector between customers, sales, and installers, you’ll help ensure every project runs smoothly—proactively addressing challenges and keeping communication seamless throughout the process. Beyond individual projects, you’ll also have the opportunity to grow our flooring business by building strong relationships with contractors, real estate agents, and property managers throughout Madison and the surrounding communities

Here's what a day could look like:

1. Completing material take offs and communication with installers & customers when problems arise during the installation process.
2. Taking flooring measurements and creating accurate diagrams.
3. Creating work orders and completing installer paperwork.
4. Frequent communication with internal sales team.
5. Following on project status
6. Coordinating install with outside vendors.
7. Interpreting construction drawings.
8. Collaborating with internal service team on flooring service issues.

1. Experience in bid preparation or related industry experience (Preference given to past Flooring Sales or Installation experience)
2. Knowledge of Floor Covering products (ceramic, stone, carpet, resilient and wood, etc.)
3. Ability to read and work with blueprints
4. Must pass a background check and have a current driver’s license
5. Knowledge of basic Microsoft programs such as Excel and Word.
6. Proficient skills in basic math to include addition, subtraction and multiplication.
7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills (customers, vendors, designers and employees)
8. Strong computer skills in general software application.
9. Self-motivated with a strong work ethic, prioritizing critical issues to ensure all deadlines are met.
