Duties
- Perform thorough cleaning of floors, surfaces, restrooms, and common areas using appropriate cleaning agents and equipment such as floor buffers and scrubbers.
- Handle various chemical agents safely while adhering to all safety protocols and handling procedures.
- Conduct manual handling tasks including heavy lifting of supplies, furniture, or equipment following safe lifting practices.
- Maintain cleanliness by emptying trash receptacles, sanitizing high-touch surfaces, and restocking supplies as needed.
- Operate industrial cleaning tools and equipment to ensure floors and surfaces are properly buffed, polished, and maintained.
- Assist with basic facilities maintenance tasks such as minor repairs or reporting issues requiring professional attention.
- Support other custodial or janitorial duties to uphold the facility’s cleanliness standards at all times.
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial or industrial cleaning environments with custodial responsibilities.
- Knowledge of proper chemical handling, safety procedures, and use of cleaning equipment including floor buffers and scrubbers.
- Strong manual handling skills with an understanding of safe lifting practices for heavy objects.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining efficiency and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with residential painting or general facilities maintenance is a plus.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively during evening shifts.
- Strong communication skills to follow instructions accurately and report maintenance issues promptly.
